Colin(2) was born in Bacchus Marsh, VIC in 1894 to Colin McKellar Todd and Catherine Blinchko. Colin had a brother, William, and a cousin, Colin, who are also remembered in the Avenue.
Colin was a farrier in Bacchus Marsh, VIC when he enlisted in the AIF, 1st Remount Unit, 2nd Squadron on the 18th of September 1915, aged almost 21. He had obtained his parents permission to join and was currently serving with the Light Horse at Bacchus Marsh. Colin had previously tried to enlist but was rejected due to a problem with his teeth - which he had fixed.
Before embarking aboard the HMAT A67 Orsova in November 1915 Colin was AWL for three days for which he received six days detention. He disembarked at Suez, Egypt in December and spent his time with the Remount Service in Egypt before embarking for Australia aboard the Burma in July 1919, returning in August and was discharged from the AIF in October.
Colin Died at Abbotsford, VIC in 1950, aged 55.
He is listed on the Shire of Bacchus Marsh Roll of Honour and the Bacchus Marsh & District Roll of Honour. He is also remembered in the Coimadai Avenue of Honour.
