Kenneth was born at Driffield, VIC in 1896 to John Henry Moore and Priscilla Dans.

Kenneth was a labourer, probably in Bacchus Marsh when he enlisted in the AIF, 8th Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion on the 19th of June 1915, aged 19. He had previously served in the Senior Cadets and was currently serving with the 29th Light Horse Regiment at Bacchus Marsh. He would have served under Packington Vallence, who is also remembered in the Avenue. After transferring to the 3rd Reinforcements he embarked aboard the HMAT A68 Anchises in August, disembarking in Egypt some time later.
